Legacy Engine Mount

Looking for an Legacy IO-550N engine mount

Jason, do you have an old one that is being replaced or needs repair? I'm askin only because we might be able to use a donor mount for new production. good luck on the search.

My kit's original mount was severely damaged during shipping when it was being returned to me after having strengthening gussets added. I no longer have the mount, as I returned it to the shop to see if it was repairable. They have since told me it was not salvageable. The good news is that I received a message over night that the shop may have a lead on another engine mount

for future reference, if ok to share, was the mount in a proper wooden crate or what was the cause of the irreparable damage? I know when Frank shipped his ES mount, he built a single purpose crate.

On a similar note, we had a new Hartzell prop being shipped from a Hartzell prop shop. I had sold the prop to a member here acquired from a builder who had it in his hangar for some time. The shop assured me they knew how to ship it properly. It arrived bent and trashed. MT ships in wooden crates. Hartzell ships in strong cardboard-based triple-blade packaging.

It was not in a wooden crate. It was bubble wrapped and then wrapped with shrink wrap. It had 'Fragile" stickers all over it. I was told numerous engine mounts have been shipped this way with no problem.
