IV-P build manual

Tue Feb 03, 2026 12:51 pm

Does anyone have physical build manuals that they would want to sell for the IV-P? Thanks

Chase, I have a set that I acquired from a build shop. It is quite big and heavy. Do you need paper or PDFs?

I’d love hard copies to keep for my personal records. I’ve been able to find some sections on the internet but would really like a physical copy.

Chase - you can get PDFs of all of the IV-P (and other Lancair models) manuals still on the Lancair.com website. See https://lancair.com/iv-ivp/ to access all of these. I'm building a IV-P and have downloaded copies of every PDF on this site so I always have them on my laptop and iPad.

I have a complete set (paper) as well as all the Lancair newsletters, etc. They are in Alpine, WY. Will also throw in a few Lancair full size drawings that I got from Martin Hollmann’s widow. Make me an offer. Thanks
Tom

Hi Chase, got your email. Thanks for interest I’ll bring this public and give you right of first refusal. I’d like to sell everything as one set (manuals, SBs, drawings, Lancair Newsletters), although I have had interest for certain parts. There is simply no substitute for paper when seriously building. While pdfs work ok for maintenance and having to print out anyway, my experience with building several planes tells me that paper is the way to go. And it might save dropping an expensive iPad. Ask me how I know?

I am asking $250 plus shipping costs via UPS (you might estimate 150 lbs?). The set is currently in Alpine, WY and I am in Wickenburg, AZ. My daughter is in Alpine and will be coming down to Wickenburg in about a week and I can ask her to bring all down and I will package and ship from here (Phoenix area).

If anyone else interested in complete set, pease contact me for NIL position. Thanks

You can email me at tom(last name here)@gmail.com. Thanks again for your interest.

BTW, I still have a tug and Bruce’s cover available for a Lancair IV.

Best,
Tom

That's fully right and your price is very attractive inside Lancair community.

I bought my manual $200 in year 93, for the five text wording grey binders only.
With 230% general inflation rate till now I checked on web, it would be $460.
FYI, engine bought $32.500 is now over $100.000, rate 300%.

And most useful are added documents which increase a lot the value of whole set
* Lancair Newsletters first, in which you get many tips for building and things which are NOT included in the revisions of manual. We paid a yearly subscription for them.
* full scale paper drawings called blueprints at that date, a MUST. Manual on line last revision shows how to do to be sure paper drawings are at the good size. Today we may perfom copies 101-102-xxx% to adjust to exact dimensions.
* I watch on photo several separate binders for chapters over 20 which are more detailed than in original grey manual, so more information.

If there’s interest, there is a deadline of a deal this week. The manuals are in Alpine, WY and my daughter can bring them down to Phoenix next weekend where I can ship them. If no immediate interest, next time I can ship is in late May when I return to Alpine. Thanks for your interest.
Best,
Tom
